JMC Welcomes Fall 2026 Students with Vibrant Freshers’ Orientation

The Department of Journalism and Media Communication (JMC) at Green University of Bangladesh warmly welcomed the newly enrolled students of Batch 262 (Fall 2026) through a vibrant Freshers’ Orientation Program held on September 27, 2026, at the university’s Purbachal American City campus.

The program was chaired by Dr. Habib Mohammad Ali, Chairperson of the Department of JMC. Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Pro Vice Chancellor of GUB, attended as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Dr. M. Shahidullah, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, joined as the Special Guest. Harun Jamil, Executive Editor of Dhaka Mail, attended as the Guest of Honor.

In his address, the Pro Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of practical learning, creativity, critical thinking, and professional skills in the age of artificial intelligence. He encouraged students to actively participate in campus media to gain hands-on experience alongside their academic studies.

The program also featured welcome remarks, faculty speeches, a documentary presentation by JMC Media Lab Coordinator Kazi Mahadi Muntasir, and inspiring messages from JMC alumni and student mentors. Newly enrolled students were welcomed with flowers by students of Batch 260.

The program concluded with a group photo session, marking the beginning of a new academic journey for the Fall 2026 students of JMC.
