Post Production Lab

Post Production Lab

A Post Production Lab is a specialized creative workspace where raw audio-visual materials are transformed into polished and broadcast-ready content. It serves as the final and most critical stage of media production, where storytelling takes its complete shape through editing, sound design, visual effects, and color correction. In journalism and media education, the Post Production Lab plays a vital role in developing technical precision and creative judgment among students.

The Post Production Lab of the Department of Journalism and Media Communication (JMC) at Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) is designed to provide intensive hands-on training in professional video editing and multimedia post-production. The lab is equipped with high-pe

rformance editing workstations, professional editing software, studio-grade headphones, sound monitoring systems, and high-resolution displays, enabling students to work efficiently on news packages, documentaries, talk shows, short films, and digital content.

With a strong focus on video editing, students learn essential skills such as footage selection, timeline structuring, continuity editing, transitions, color grading, audio synchronization, subtitling, and rendering for multiple platforms. The lab environment encourages students to experiment with visual storytelling techniques while maintaining journalistic accuracy and production quality.

Through project-based learning and practical assignments, students gain expertise in transforming raw footage into compelling narratives suitable for television, online streaming platforms, and social media. The Post Production Lab thus prepares learners for professional careers in broadcast media, digital journalism, filmmaking, and multimedia production.
