News Studio Lab

News Studio Lab

A News Studio Lab is a dynamic and practice-oriented space designed to replicate the professional environment of television and digital newsrooms. It enables students to experience the complete process of news production and broadcasting in a structured and supervised setting. As an integral part of journalism education, the lab bridges theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing students for real-world media careers.

The News Studio Lab of the Department of Journalism and Media Communication (JMC) at Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) serves as a professional training ground where students actively engage in broadcast journalism practices. Equipped with industry-standard studio cameras, lighting setups, teleprompters, chroma key (green screen) facilities, the lab allows learners to create news bulletins, interviews, talk shows, documentaries, and multimedia content.

The studio emphasizes experiential learning, enabling students to develop competencies in news writing, presentation, voice modulation, camera handling, studio management, live production, and post-production editing. By participating in simulated live broadcasts and production exercises, students gain confidence, technical expertise, and editorial skills necessary for careers in television, online news platforms, and multimedia journalism.
